Yuba Community College District

REtiree Benefits
Your guide to retirement health & wellness resources

Welcome Retirees

Thank you for your service to Yuba Community College District. As a retiree, you may be eligible for a variety of benefits depending on your employee group, length of service, and retirement plan. This page provides an overview of the benefits available to retirees from all employee groups, including classified professionals, faculty, and management/confidential employees.

Health & Insurance Benefits

YCCD offers continued medical, dental, and vision coverage for eligible retirees through TCSIG, with eligibility and District contributions based on your employee group’s collective bargaining agreement or administrative policy at the time of retirement. Dental and vision coverage may be continued through direct payment, though District contributions are typically not included unless specifically stated in your retirement package. Life insurance benefits vary by employee group; some management/confidential retirees may retain coverage post-retirement. For verification of your eligibility and specific benefits, please contact Human Resources.

Retirement Systems

YCCD retirees participate in either CalPERS (Classified, Management/Confidential) or CalSTRS (Certificated Faculty). For assistance with pension-related matters, contact your retirement system:

Full-Time Faculty (FAYCCD CBA)

Faculty who retire with at least 15 years of full-time service and are eligible for CalSTRS may qualify for District-paid retiree medical contributions, depending on the provisions of the FAYCCD CBA in effect at the time of retirement.

Classified Employees (CSEA CBA)

Classified retirees with 15 or more years of full-time equivalent service who retire under CalPERS may be eligible for District-paid medical benefits, subject to the terms of the CSEA collective bargaining agreement.

Management & Confidential Employees (Management Handbook)

Eligible management/confidential retirees with at least 10 years of full-time service may receive District-paid medical benefits, with eligibility and contribution levels outlined in the Management Handbook.
