As part of the District’s Values, YCCD embraces transparency and clear, honest communication. The Monthly Highlights intends to communicate to the District community major approval actions the Board takes at the monthly Board meetings. Special Board Meeting – Study Session 
During the Board Study Session, held prior to the regular Board Meeting, the Board had a discussion on Senate Bill 226 which recommends an alternative process for California Community College (CCC) districts that meet the specified conditions for the initiation and approval of a petition to reorganize CCC districts through the transfer of territory between CCC districts.   • District Services Employee Spotlight – Brian Splaine, Assistant Director, Maintenace & Operations at Woodland Community College 
  • Recognition of the Service and Commitment of the 2024-2025 Associated Student Government Presidents:

  • Recognition for the Service and Commitment of the 2024-2025 Student Trustees:
    • Yuba College – Jaspinder Grewal

Approval Actions 

  • Approved: Extension of Employment of the Interim Vice President Student Service at Yuba College – Karissa Marino Morehouse  
  • Approved: Employment of the Vice President of Student Services at Yuba College – Karissa Marino Morehouse  
  • Approved: Extension of Employment of the Interim Director of Matriculation at Woodland Community College – Caren Fernandez 
  • Approved: Opposition for Senate Bill 226 as currently written and charge the Chancellor to work with a consultant to submit appropriate amendments to SB 226 
  • Approved: District Academic Calendar for 2026-2027 
  • Approved: Yuba College, Building 1100 (Library) Fire/Water Damage Renovations and Repair Project 
  • Approved: Woodland Community College/Theater Storage Building: Architectural Design Services  
  • Approved: Board Policy 3540: Sexual and Other Assaults on Campus (Substantive Changes) 

 

Next Board Meeting 

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Governing Board is Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Yuba College.
