Welcome Back to Campus!
Yuba Community College District (YCCD) is committed to supporting the health and safety of its students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This page provides current information and resources related to COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses. (The last revision was made on July 30, 2026.)
Changes to COVID-19 Safety Measures
California’s COVID-19-specific workplace regulations have expired. As a result, YCCD no longer maintains separate reporting, isolation, quarantine, masking, or workplace exposure-notification requirements specifically for COVID-19.
COVID-19 should now be managed similarly to other respiratory illnesses, such as influenza and the common cold, while following current public health recommendations.
=================================
COVID-19 Reporting and Notifications
Students, faculty, and staff are no longer required to report positive COVID-19 cases to the YCCD COVID Response Center.
The YCCD COVID-19 Reporting Form is no longer available, and the District will no longer routinely issue notifications regarding potential workplace exposure to COVID-19.
For questions regarding YCCD’s COVID-19 practices, please contact YCCD COVID Manager Mahsa Javadi at mjavadi@yccd.edu.

What to Do When You Are Sick
Stay home and away from others when you have symptoms of COVID-19 or another respiratory illness.
You may return to your regular campus activities when both of the following are true:
- Your symptoms are improving overall.
- You have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication.
For five days after returning to regular activities, consider taking additional precautions to protect others, particularly individuals at higher risk of serious illness. Precautions may include:
- Wearing a well-fitting, high-quality mask
- Improving ventilation and indoor air quality
- Practicing good hand hygiene
- Maintaining distance from others when possible
- Testing before being around individuals at higher risk
Seek medical care if your symptoms are severe, worsening, or concerning.
==================================
Face Coverings
YCCD does not have a general COVID-19-specific masking requirement.
Wearing a well-fitting mask, such as an N95 or KN95, may help reduce the spread of respiratory illness when you are sick, recovering, or in a crowded indoor space.
Individuals may choose to wear a mask at any time based on their personal health needs and comfort level.
==================================
COVID-19 Exposure
YCCD does not require quarantine or routine testing following exposure to COVID-19.
After an exposure:
-
- Monitor yourself for symptoms.
- Consider wearing a mask around others.
- Consider testing, especially before spending time with someone at higher risk of serious illness.
- Stay home and consider testing if symptoms develop.
Health and Safety Recommendations
Members of the YCCD community are encouraged to:
-
- Stay home when sick.
- Wash their hands regularly.
- Cover coughs and sneezes.
- Improve ventilation when possible.
- Wear a mask when sick or recovering.
- Test when appropriate.
- Follow current vaccination recommendations from public health agencies and healthcare providers.
- Contact a healthcare provider when medical guidance is needed.
Healthcare and Clinical ProgramsCOVID-19 Testing
YCCD no longer provides free at-home COVID-19 test kits to students or employees.
At-home tests may be purchased from pharmacies, retail stores, or online. Testing may also be available through healthcare providers, pharmacies, or community health organizations.
Always check the expiration date and the manufacturer’s instructions before using an at-home test.
Healthcare and Clinical Programs
Students and employees participating in Allied Health, healthcare, clinical, or other specialized programs may be subject to additional or more rigorous requirements established by Clinical facilities, and Healthcare partners must follow the requirements of their individual programs and clinical placement sites, even when those requirements differ from YCCD’s general campus guidance.
