Canvas Access Restored
Faculty, Staff, and Students,
YCCD IT staff have completed a security review of our systems and Canvas integrations. Based on that review, YCCD is in compliance with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office requirements and guidance for re‑enabling Canvas access.
While access has been restored, it is important to note that this remains an active ransomware/extortion incident affecting Instructure. There is no indication at this time that YCCD systems or Canvas course content have been compromised; however, the situation continues to be closely monitored. As a precaution, access to Canvas may be restricted again if further malicious activity or elevated risk is identified.

Watch for suspicious emails, messages, or Canvas notifications — especially those that request login credentials, request payments, or link to unfamiliar sites.

YCCD IT completed a security review of district systems and Canvas integrations and confirmed compliance with CCCCO requirements for re‑enabling access. Canvas access has been restored.
The ransomware/extortion incident affecting Instructure remains active. No indication that YCCD systems or course content have been compromised. Access may be restricted again if elevated risk is identified.
