The recruitment process for the new permanent Chancellor continues to remain on schedule. Interested candidates have submitted their applications. Yuba College News 

Congratulations to the Yuba College Men’s Basketball Team on clinching the Bay Valley Championship and finishing league play 16-0, 20 straight wins, and a Regular Season Record of 26 and 2!   

There is a lot of great work being done to support food, transportation, and housing for Yuba College students through the Basic Needs Center. More information can be found on the webpage, linked here.

YCCD Foundation News 

The Lake County Adopt a 5th Grader program received a $7,000 gift in December from Wade Koeninger of Ukiah. Mr. Koeninger has been long-time supporter of the Mendocino Community College Adopt a Fifth Grader program. The Adoption fund now has more than $12,000 and with the support of the Lake County Campus Dean Ingrid Larsen and the Lake County Office of Education, the first class of 5th graders will be adopted in the spring  with a minimum of one 5th Grader from every elementary school in the Lake County service area.

Recently Reviewed Board Policies 

Pursuant to Board Policy 2410, all Board Policies are required to be reviewed on a five-year comprehensive review cycle. The Board delegates to the Chancellor the authority to do minor editing, to include spelling, grammar, title changes, and to use professional judgment to determine if recommended edits shall be considered minor or substantive. All policies listed below were presented to the Policy Committee on February 1, 2023. Necessary Updates were completed in Board Docs.

Minor Changes:

Board Policy 2355 – Decorum 
Board Policy 2355 was revised language to what will be considered “out of order” 

Board Policy 2410 – Board Policies and Administrative Procedures 
Board Policy 2410 had minor changes to add the Board shall regularly review the policies for effectiveness. Also adds language of the Chancellor’s annual obligation to give a copy or inform the Board of any changes to Administrative Procedures. 

Board Policy 2750 – Board Member Absence from the State 
Board Policy 2750 was updated with inclusive pronouns.
