Degree Requirements

The Psychiatric Technology program is a four-semester and single summer session program offered at the Marysville Campus. The program includes clinical experience in agencies that provide services to developmentally, mentally, and physically disabled while under direct supervision of a clinical instructor. The curriculum will be updated periodically to insure compliance with State regulations.

MINIMUM CRITERIA

  1. High school graduation or equivalent to high school graduation.
  2. Age of 18 years by the date of license application.

Certificate: Minimum units to total...54 units

For Associate in Science Degree: Requires completion of additional general education courses (see graduation requirements in College catalog)...60 units

Completion/challenge/credit for the previously outlined courses will make the student eligible for licensure examination by the board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician. Students wishing to also receive an Associate Degree should consult a college counselor concerning additional degree requirements.
