How do I Join?

Requirements:

• Intend to transfer to 4-year college/university
• Intend to major in Math-based field: Agriculture, Botany, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Engineering,Math, Nursing, Optometry, Physics, Pre-Medicine, Pharmacy, Zoology
• Prepare an educational plan that will be updated each semester
• Completion of MESA application intake form
• Agree to participate in MESA activities (sign student contract)

In addition to the above requirements, MESA students must meet one or more of the following criteria:

1. Eligibility for EOPS
2. Eligibility for the Board of Governors Waiver (BOGW)
3. Parent/Guardian/Student currently receiving TANF (formerly AFDC)
4. CalWORKS participants with goal of transfer to 4-year institution
5. Need-based financial aid recipient
6. Eligible for one of the TRIO Programs (Talent Search, Upward Bound, Student Support Services)
