Kyle Newman is a greyshirt freshman who dedicated himself this previous year to conditioning and lost over 30 pounds. At Marysville HS Kyle averaged 22points and 6 rebounds and was named team MVP, Player of the Year of the Yuba-Sutter area, and was named co-MVP of the GEL with current Yuba 49'er Royal Edwards of Capital Christian HS.

His favorite athlete is Pistol Pete, enjoys the movie "Troy" and lists Will Ferrell as his favorite actor.His biggest fear is spiders and what he most likes about being a 49'er is "expecting to win every game!"
