 | Brett OstPosition: Point Guard Number: 1 Height: 6' 1" Weight: 175 Class Standing: Senior Major: Social Studies Home Town: Rocklin, Ca High School: Rocklin High School Bio: Brett Ost came to Yuba College fresh off a Sac Joaquin Section Championship. After leading Rocklin to a 30-4 record, named conference MVP, 1st Team All-City, and Optimist All Star he made the transition to Yuba College point guard. After a freshman year in which he and former 49er Kenny Smith were both named to the All Bay Valley 1st team, they made a pact after the season that Yuba would win the Bay Valley Conference title. With a lot of extra work, and a couple of pieces added to the puzzle, Yuba finished the 2003 season with a 22-11 record and the first league title since 1984. After the season, Brett was named the Bay Valley Conference MVP which also garnered a First Team All-State Community College award. Brett capped off his sophomore year with the Yuba College Male Athlete of the year award and graduated with a 3.7 GPA. For his efforts, Brett was offered and took a full scholarship to UC Riverside in the Big West Conference where he started every game for 2 years when healthy. He is currently finishing up his degree and looks forward to coming back to coach at Yuba College next year. |
