The Yuba Baseball 49ers continue their fall schedule this week at home against Delta College. Friday, October 9th, the 49er baseball team is set for two seven inning games against the returning California State Junior College Baseball runner-ups. First pitch is set for 2:15 at the Yuba College baseball field.

Three 49ers Participate Showcase - (Date Last Updated: 10/07/2009)

Three Yuba College 49ers participated in the Northern California Junior College Sophomore Showcase on Sunday. The showcase brought the top sophomore junior college baseball players to the baseball field at Sacramento State on October 4th. The three 49ers to participate were pitcher Matt Vedo, Outfielder Scott Underwood, as well as Outfielder/Infielder Eric Underwood.
Matt Vedo returns for his sophomore year looking to head a very impressive pitching staff. Last year Matt posted a 4.21 ERA while leading the 49ers in strikeouts with 48 in 66.1 innings pitched
Sophomore outfielder Scott Underwood comes back after a very impressive freshman year. Scott led all 49er hitters with a .438 batting average while posting 32 RBIs with 3 home runs. Because of his impressive freshman year, Scott was rewarded with a 2nd Team All-State Selection.
Eric Underwood, a sophomore outfielder/infielder, also returns after an outstanding freshman year. Eric led all 49er hitters with 42 RBIs while posting an impressive .350 batting average and 4 home runs.
Congratulations to all three 49ers for their selection into the 2009 Northern California Junior College Sophomore Showcase.

Congratulations to Scott and Erik Underwood and Adrian Perez for making 1st Team ALL BVC, Steven Davis 2nd Team ALL BVC and Joey Gonzalez, Honorable Mention. Here is an article with the good news from Appeal-Democrat.com.
