Niners finish season strong - (Date Last Updated: 05-04-2008)

Saturday, the Niners closed the season with a win over Napa Valley College, 9-3. Yuba finished strong by winning their last 12 of 15 games. Here is the article from Saturday's game.

Summer Camps!! - (Date Last Updated: 05-02-2008)

Yuba College Baseball Coaches are putting on several camps throughout the summer. A youth camp for kids ages 8-13, and shorter skill camps for ages 8-18. To register, print the flyer ("more info" link below), fill out the form and send to the Yuba College Community Education Office, or Baseball Office (instructions and address are on flyer) with payment. For questions regarding any of the baseball camps contact: Erick Burns (530) 634-7725.

Niners beat Laney, 15-9 - (Date Last Updated: 04-27-2008)

Yuba used an 8-run 2nd inning to beat visiting Laney College, 15-9. It was their 6th win in a row and 9th win in their last 11 games. Here is the article from that game.

Next week, Yuba closes out the season with 3 conference games and a non-conference game hosting Butte College on Monday at 2:30. The last regular season game will be at home on Saturday against Napa Valley, start time 1:00 pm. Come on out!!

The Yuba Baseball team beat Marin in back-to-back games with runs in the last innings. Thursday, Yuba needed 3 in the bottom of the 9th to win on Wes Tom's walk-off, 2-run single, for an 8-7 victory. Here is the article from that game at Appeal-Democrat.com.

...Billy Thomas (Oklahoma Baptist University), Ryan and Robert Lane (New Mexico State University), Aaron Lowe (Bethany College, KS), Jeff Oliver (Mt. Mercy College, IA), Nick Armocido (San Francisco State), and Dan Miller (Chico State)...are all continuing their playing careers. Good luck, guys!
Travis Walden has enlisted in the US Army with plans to train to be a Ranger.

Our earliest photo so far is the 1940 baseball squad from the 1939-40 academic year. We are missing some from various decades. Coach Gloyd to coach in Alaska for the summer! - (Date Last Updated: 04-22-2007)

Tim Gloyd has been invited to coach in the prestigious Alaskan Summer League for the Fairbanks Goldpanners. It is a high-level college league that runs June through July, including the "Midnight Sun Game". Previous players for the Goldpanners include Barry Bonds, Tom Seaver, Jason Giambi, and Bobby Crosby among many others.

Steve Shaver has commited to Master's College, Casey Borcher will continue his education at UC Berkeley, Doug Hurn and Frank Avilla will continue their playing careers at Oklahoma Baptist University. AJ Russo and Ryan Zaft will play at Azusa Pacific. Corey Todhunter has signed to play at Mesa State College, and Matt Miller agreed to continue his playing and academic career at Stanislaus State. Deno Gellepes will continue his education at Chico State.
