How To Apply

Steps to follow to assist you in the application for your education benefits: All steps can be completed at the VA Office during regular business hours.

  1. Complete Application for Admission to Yuba Community College District.

  2. Apply online at http://vabenefits.vba.va.gov/vonapp/main.asp.

  3. Application must be signed and brought to the VAO or mailed directly to the Regional Office.

  4. Complete and bring to VA Office:

    • A #4 member copy of your DD214
    • Copy of marriage and birth certificates (Vietnam era only)
    • Notice of Basic Eligibility Form (NOBE) (1606/16-7 only)
    • Copy of Yuba College Placement Test scores
    • Copies of all prior college transcripts, with originals sent to Yuba College Registrar
    • Education Plan from Counseling department if you have twenty or more prior college credits

  5. Register for classes. A class schedule must be submitted to the Yuba College VAO for you to be certified and receive education benefits.

  6. Apply for Financial Aid. This does not affect your VA education benefits.
