Background Screening Information

Hospitals and Clinics are now requiring that all employees, students and volunteers have backgrounds checks as well as taking a drug screening. To meet these requirements we have been asked to have our students complete and pass a background check and drug screening test before we place them for the clinical portion of the program. The drug screening is scheduled randomly prior to the first fall semester and can be done there after if there is suspicion that the student is under the influence. To work as a radiographer in California, you need only be in possession of the Radiation Health Branch Certificate in Diagnostic Radiology. Most employers also require that radiologic technologist be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T). To qualify for the A.R.R.T you must first meet their background/ethics qualifications. While it is possible that you may meet the requirements to enter into our program, it is possible you may not meet the A.R.R.T requirements.
