Deferment - (Date Last Updated: 05-08-2008)

Deferring

I have been getting questions about when is it too late to defer from the program. If you have started the process (drug and background) it is assumed you will not defer. BUT, if you find that it is necessary you must let me know before July 15th. Because of the drug and background screening all the names must be in the system no later than July 20th. If you do defer after July 15th (unless it is a documented emergency), your name will be dropped from the list or added to the bottom if that is your choice.

BUT, you must understand your waiting too long means we will not have a full class this is why your name will be dropped from the list (or moved to the bottom) even if it is your first deferral. There may be compelling reasons after the 15th and each will be dealt with individually, should this be necessary you will need to discuss the matter with me by phone at 530-741-6960 or email at awillson@yccd.edu. Email is best and we can make a time to talk on the phone.

Should you defer, you can NOT be reinbursed for the background or drug screening.

If you have questions please call or email me. I am only on campus on Mondays so if you call you will not hear from me until after Monday.

I am on vacation from the end of May until June 16th and then again July 28th until August 13th

Finally - (Date Last Updated: 04-03-2008)

OK the online Waitlist has been updated. I have removed all the names of the students who requested to be removed, who did not reply or if their letter was returned (meaning an address change that we didn't get)

So the first 18 are the reserved seats for the Sacramento classroom, this does NOT change the list as it was before. The first 48 names on the list will be the first to be asked if they want to start this year (this includes the sponsored students).

We will be sending out letters starting this month, they are sent in a random order and will continue to be sent until we get 48 students. At times even the sponsored students have changed their minds and that can move you up.

Remember if you have a particular classroom listed as your only choice and I know there is NOT a seat in that classroom, I will NOT call you and that is considered a deferment. You may only defer once. Usually the Sacramento classroom fills quickly, so it is possible you will get your second choice. If a seat opens in Sacramento we offer it to the first student on the list who wanted Sacramento first but was willing to accept Marysville.

When you are mailed your letter, the information for the drug and background screening will be in the letter. You must do both within the timeframe discussed in the letter. Should you not respond, you will be dropped from the list.

Sorry this took me so long.

Students Starting Fall 2007 - (Date Last Updated: 07-14-2007)

The reasons for the classroom assignments page is :
1. Let you know what classroom you have been assigned to,
2. Let you know which RT3 Lectures and Lab to register for,
3. Let you know what will be your first day and to let you know you only attend one orientation and that is the ONLY schedule for the first week.
4. Let you kow you need to register for RT1, 2 and 6A and med term if you need it.... there is only one section and don't worry if it says Marysville.. register for it anyway.
5. Reminder that if I don't have a copy of your TB that is less than 3 months old, to bring it.. and that you MUST have a current CPR for Healthcare workers.. the general Public Adult and Child will NOT work.

I think that is it.
