Trustee Leela Rai - Area II

Ms. Leela Rai represents Trustee Area II, which consists of all of Sutter County except the city of Live Oak, and a small portion of Placer County in the East Nicolaus Joint Union High School District. Ms. Rai was first elected to the YCCD Board of Trustees in 1994 and her current term expires in 2010.

Ms. Rai holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration and a Masters in International Affairs from California State University, Sacramento. She is the President/CEO of Aleel, Inc, and has received numerous awards throughout the years, including being recognized by the California State Legislature as Woman of the Year. She has also served on planning commissions both for Sutter County and Yuba City, where she currently resides.
