| California State Scholarships - (10/21/2009) | The California State Chapter of P.E.O. provides educational scholarships to California women studying in a variety of fields. Scholarship grants are awarded based on integrity of character, scholastic ability, school/community activities and financial need. Application packets should be requested early in the Fall (beginning September 1, and no later than January 10.) Completed applications must be postmarked no later than February 1st. Recipients are selected and notified in Spring. These scholarships are available to California resident women only. | 2010 Talbots Scholarship Foundation - (10/16/2009) | | In keeping with its long-standing tradition of helping women succeed, the Talbots Charitable Foundation is proud to present the 2010 Talbots Scholarship Foundation and the inaugural Nancy Talbot Scholarship Award for perseverance and ingenuity, which is presented in memory of the founder of Talbots. This program empowers women to enrich themselves through learning and achieve a college education later in life. Completely re-imagined, the Talbots Scholarship Foundation will award $180,000 in college scholarships for the 2010 academic year, including up to 10 $15,000 scholarships and one $30,000 scholarship to an extraordinary finalist demonstrating courage, conviction and an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit. Only the first 5,000 eligible applications received will be processed. We hope you'll join us in spreading the word about this unique scholarship program for women. ELIGIBILITY Applicants to the 2010 Talbots Scholarship Foundation must: * Be women currently residing in the United States or Canada; * Be women who have earned a high school diploma or their GED on or before September 2000; * Be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full- or part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited 2- or 4- year college, university, or vocational-technical school; * Be attending the full 2010-11 academic year and receiving a degree no earlier than May 2011; and * Have at least two semesters (24 credit hours or more) remaining to complete an undergraduate degree as of the beginning of the 2010 fall academic term. |
| The Harding Memorial Scholarship Competition - (10/16/2009) | This scholarship was made possible by and created in honor of Mr. Jack E. Harding, a lifelong resident of Newark, Ohio, and good friend of MTSO, and his mother, Mrs. Alberta E. Harding. Its purpose is to attract the nation’s most capable students to MTSO for full-time graduate theological study in one of four Master’s degree programs: Master of Divinity (preferred), Master of Arts in Christian Education, Master of Arts in Counseling Ministries, Master of Theological Studies. It is awarded through a national competition. The winning student receives full tuition plus an annual $10,000 stipend. The Harding application is due February 1 of each year. | Annual Conference Student Scholarship Opportunity - (07/09/2009) | | Apply early for a student scholarship to attend HACU’s 23rd Annual Conference: “Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Building a Better Future for All," October 31-November 2, 2009, at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida. The HACU conference annually attracts hundreds of distinguished academic, corporate, federal, public policy and community leaders, along with top corporate and federal employers. A special Student Track program is specifically designed for students. It is a forum for students and professionals to discuss issues and share information. A limited number of scholarships are available to eligible students to attend the HACU conference. Student Track Scholarships will cover costs for (1) conference registration; (2) travel and lodging for out-of-state students; (3) conference-related meals; and (4) conference-sponsored entertainment events. Conference Scholarship recipients are required to attend ALL Student Track activities. Scholarships are provided to students by HACU's corporate and federal sponsors. (Self-Reliance) - (06/17/2009) | | To provide scholarships to full time students in all fields of study who demonstrate a genuine need for assistance that will enable them to continue their education. Students and their families should be contributing financial support to their own education whenever possible and have a 3.0 GPA. Consideration will be given to students working toward education that will contribute or give back to their community and society. TWS Sacramento-Shasta Chapter Workshop/Conference Grants Conference/Workshop Attendance Grants are also being offered to students to help defray the cost of attending technical sessions, either as an attendee or presenter. | ALERT: AARP FOUNDATION WOMEN'S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - (03/06/2009) | | The scholarship is open to low-income women 40+. Priority is given to women who are in one of three categories: 1) Women raising the children of another family member, 2) Those in dead end jobs and 3) Those who have been out of the paid workforce for an extended period. The scholarships, which ranged from $500 to $5,000, are to be used for tuition and books are paid directly to the educational institution. Nearly three hundred women were helped through the program in the first round and about 250 women received scholarships in round two. The program is funded by AARP with generous support the AARP Foundation Women's Leadership Circle. | HEALTH PROFESSIONS EDUCATION FOUNDATION - (03/04/2009) | The Foundation offers scholarships to health professional students attending one of California's accredited colleges or universities. You may apply for a scholarship if you are accepted or enrolled in one of the following programs: Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwifery, Dentistry, and Vocational Nursing. Loan repayment programs are offered to graduates pursuing a health professional career and assists in the repayment of educational debt.
