I'm a southern boy who moved to the west coast. I graduated in 1996 from the University of Memphis with a a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Communication Arts. I recieved my Master of Arts in Communication Studies in 2002 from CSU,Chico.

After receiving my MA I taught full-time for CSU,Chico in the departments of Communication Studies and Communication Design. For a time I directed a nationally competitive speech and debate team, and taught courses in Argumentation, Small Group Communication, and Communication Criticism. In conjunction with this assignment I was also teaching public speaking and group discussion part-time for Butte Community College.

I am excited to be at WCC where I can build the SPEECH program. We now offer all courses required for an Associate's degree in Communication Studies. It has been an exciting time working with my colleagues and the students on our campus. I am actively involved with a number of professional communication associations such as NCA (National Communication Association) and WSCA (Western States Communication Association). Other experiences have been actively involved with working tabulation rooms for a number of large and small speech tournaments.
