I was born and raised in the Yuba-Sutter area. I grow up in the small town of Sutter, CA. After graduating from Yuba City High School in 1994 to begin my education at Yuba College. I earned an Associate in Science in 1996, then an Associates Degree in Nursing in 1999. My career began in the Rideout Intensive Care Unit as a bedside critical care nurse. In 2002, I earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Chico State University, CA. After three years at Rideout, I began working at the University of California Davis Medical (UCDMC) Center as a float nurse caring for patients in the areas of critical care, emergency, and recovery room. I truly enjoyed my three years at UCDMC but soon it became apparent education was calling me. I began working for Yuba College fulltime in 2007. At this time I had been working part-time for the college about two years. The transition was exciting and full of enriching experiences. I am married with two beautiful girls, ages two and four. I still reside in the Yuba-Sutter area. I am currently taking courses towards my Master’s in Nursing Education. I am teaching in both the Associate Degree and Vocational Programs in nursing (RN and LVN). On weekends I work at the bedside in the critical care unit for a local hospital. This is a wonderful time in my life. My family is healthy, I truly love my time teaching and I am continuing my education as well.
