YCCD Technology Training to Support Teaching and Learning

Which Training Workshop(s) should I choose? Select a workshop based on your individual level of expertise and your goal of incorporating what you will learn within your online activities.

Overall Objectives: Plan to complete the following objectives by the end of the session.

  • Create and develop online course materials and presentations using WebCT CE 4.
  • Demonstrate elements of quality instructional design for online, web enhanced and hybrid instruction.
  • Provide examples of principles and best practices in the delivery of teaching and learning.

Description of rating levels of workshops:

  • Beginning (B) - No previous computer use within the classroom, but personal use of the Internet and email, basic computer skills. Little or no previous training in WebCT or equivalent course management software.

  • Intermediate (I) - Personal use of the Internet with an understanding of uses that can be incorporated for instruction (research, email, resources, etc.) Have attended introductory WebCT training or equivalent course management system.

  • Advanced (A)Have previous experience teaching online and developing an online or web-enhanced course using WebCT or equivalent course management software.

The Workshop Descriptions contain above rating of B, I, A, X,and/or All to assist you in choosing those you will participate in. Remember, these are only suggested levels, you may participate in whichever workshop you feel ready for. Read the descriptions carefully before choosing the workshop you plan to take. These descriptions will help you design an individual path ending up where you want to be with your online activities project.
