What is YubaOnline and WebCT?
The YubaOnline program is the organizing body of which online and enhanced courses are scheduled. The YubaOnline program provides faculty and student training, support services, and other incentives to improve online teaching and learning.

WebCT is the course management software which brings the dynamics of a classroom environment to the Internet, through a set of Course Tools designed to deliver online learning! Instructors and students can interact in a virtual classroom in much the same way as in a standard classroom. The difference is it can be done from anywhere in the world, at anytime, and with the resources of the Internet as classroom support.


What is my Username and Password?

A dialog box (similar to the graphic above) will prompt you to enter your WebCT ID# (Username) and Password in order to access individual student/instructor My WebCT accounts.

Username - New as of Spring, 2008
As of Spring, 2008, the WebCT username format has changed. Use your Colleague/WebAdvisor Student ID to access your WebCT courses. Your Student ID is the first initial of your last name, followed by your 7 digit Colleague/WebAdvisor number found on the print-out of your registered courses.

Password
The first (4) four letters of your last name (all typed in lower case) and the last (4) four numbers of your social security number. Note: Your WebCT password is not the same as your WebAdvisor password.


Incomplete Grades:
If you have an incomplete grade to make up and need access to a WebCT course, please contact your course instructor for log in instructions.


Getting Started with WebCT:
Prerequisites to taking an online course using WebCT:

  • Students must be comfortable navigating the World Wide Web.
  • Each student must have some prior experience creating and sending email with or without attachments.
  • Attend a YubaOnline Training session for WebCT.
  • Students must know how to "cut" and "paste" between programs for homework assignments.
  • It is highly recommended for students to already be using Netscape or Explorer as their browser of choice.
  • Recommended list of Hardware, Software, and Plug-Ins for use with WebCT online courses.

What Specifically is My WebCT as a User?
My WebCT is a central location where students and instructors can see a list of courses in which they are registered and access all courses from within that one page. Clicking a particular course name allows you to access that course without re-entering your User Name and Password. My WebCT is set up on the server where your course(s) resides. The system administrator, or your course instructor, will set up individual student My WebCT accounts.


Unable to log on to My WebCT?
If you are unable to log on to My WebCT, recheck your WebCT ID# and Password. Make sure you are entering the correct letter case with no spaces or special characters. Your WebCT ID# and Password must be entered exactly as they are given to you. If you continue to have difficulties logging onto My WebCT, please contact your course instructor for assistance.
