Economic and Workforce Development
The Office of Economic and Workforce Development (EWD) for the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) strives to develop regional partnerships that lead to investment, economic growth and global competitiveness for our eight county service area. EWD seeks to achieve these goals through maintaining and developing industry-specific education, training, and services that contribute to a highly skilled and productive workforce.
EWD oversees efforts to develop and improve Career and Technical Education programs for the 16,000 students served by the Yuba Community College District. The department leads efforts to expand local, state and federal funding sources, and works to advance regional partnerships. EWD’s Director serves as the District’s liaison with the business community. EWD strives to provide services for improving workforce skills for all levels in order for businesses to become more productive and competitive in a global marketplace. EWD, with the help of staff, manages Perkins, SB 70, and other grants as well as Contract Education.
