Trustee Brent Hastey – Area I

Mr. Brent Hastey represents Trustee Area I, which consists of all of Yuba County, a small portion of Butte County in the Marysville Joint Unified School District, and the city of Live Oak in Sutter County.  Mr. Hastey was first elected to the YCCD Board of Trustees in 2008.  His current term expires in 2012. 

Mr. Hastey has lived in the Yuba-Sutter community for 48 years.  He is a graduate of Lindhurst High School and received his Associate of Arts Degree from Yuba College.  Mr. Hastey also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Golden Gate University. 

Mr. Hastey works as a business owner.  He currently serves as the public representative to the Yuba County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) and is Chairman of the Board for the Bank of Feather River.  Mr. Hastey’s previous professional accomplishments have included serving on the Yuba County Board of Supervisors, serving as President of the Yuba Sutter Economic Development Corporation (YSEDC), Directorships of the Yuba County Water Agency (YCWA) and Reclamation District 784, as well as Chairmanships of the Measure J Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) and of the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG).

Mr. Hastey enjoys volunteering his time to the Yuba Feather Rivers Rotary Club and to the Boy Scouts of America.  Mr. and Mrs. Hastey have four children.
