Trustee Gary Sandy - Area III

Mr. Gary Sandy was elected to the YCCD Board of Trustees in 2010. His current term expires in 2014.

Mr. Sandy grew up in Vacaville and has lived in Woodland for the past 23 years. He attended Sonoma State University where he graduated "With Distinction." Following graduation he was awarded a Coro Foundation Fellowship in Public Affairs. He holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco and is a graduate of the UC Davis Executive program. Mr. Sandy works for the University of California, Davis, as Director of Local Government Relations. He served on the Woodland City Council from 1989 - 1996 and as Mayor from 1994-1996. He has also served on the Yolo County Fair Board, and presently sits on the boards of the Yolo County Visitors Bureau and the Yolo Basin Foundation. Mr. Sandy is married to Mary Vixie Sandy. The couple have three children.
