Student Trustee Jillian Allen

Ms. Jillian E. Allen recently took her oath of office at the August 3, 2011 Yuba Community College District (YCCD) Board of Trustees meeting and became the new student trustee. She is currently attending Woodland Community College (WCC) and will serve as the YCCD student trustee for a year.  Her votes will all be advisory in nature.

Ms. Allen is a sophomore at WCC where she has taken numerous general education courses and is planning on majoring in Nursing. She attended Estacada High School in Oregon before coming to WCC.

As the newly elected student trustee, Ms. Allen plans to work with all YCCD campuses to obtain consensus on issues of concern to the general student population, such as increasing campus life activities, adding more variety to the food choices currently available at the colleges, and engaging a greater number of students in the committee and decision-making process. 

“I would like to be more involved in what happens at my school and ensure that the students are being heard,” said Ms. Allen. “What is being decided today will affect us forever.”
